![]() In that regard, yes, it should be a bad option. Would also totally tie it to the skill the player has in the type of gun they are trying to disassemble, with a failure chance at low levels where they lose some of the small parts while trying to take it apart, rendering the resulting broken-down version of the gun a useless pile of parts, instead.Īt the same time, disassembling and reassembling a gun may also yield experience points in the respective gun class, maybe? I watched some videos of moderately competent people breaking down guns and it can take a couple minutes. I am totally fine with that, it should take a while to take them apart. Things like, can the gun actually be field-stripped, what is the longest component part - I was thinking to make it one " parts" item, but we could break it down further if someone wants to help with that. ![]() I guess while we're at it we might as well fix the incorrect gun lengths. Like, accurate data about all the guns in the game. I'd just like some help, with the coding and with the data, because there are some things we'd need to know. I'm a programmer, so I could actually do it. I'm kinda feeling like I want to implement that into the game. Guns are mostly field-strippable, right? In case of rifles, at least some of them, you can take things off like the buttstock or the barrel or both, which would drastically reduce their length so you could store the pieces in your backpack and reassemble the thing back at home. I was thinking, why not be able to disassemble the guns into their parts? You could, of course, drag around a wheelbarrow and have it in there, but. Sure, you can drive around a car and store it in there. There are a couple exceptions I have noticed so far (including the M4A1 from another post of mine that should be 756mm long but the game lists it as 12cm), but those will get fixed eventually, I suppose.Īt that point, it might just get kinda annoying to strap all these guns to your shoulders and carry them around that way, even though it's completely realistic and I don't wanna get rid of it. ![]() So, with the new container system in the experimental, I noticed that I often have to craft shoulder straps in order to carry guns, as their length will not make them fit in most backpacks.
